Airways Corporation is a State-owned Enterprise, a fully-owned subsidiary of the NZ Government operating as a commercial business, and delivering services to both NZ and the international community. These services include:  Control of all air movements within NZ’s 30 million sq km’s of controlled airspace; the development, installation and maintenance of critical infrastructure and flight path systems through out New Zealand; the management of air traffic control towers and radar centres and the provision of technical and engineering services to NZ airports; and the training of air traffic controllers for both the domestic and international market.

Airways Corporation is also involved in the development of air traffic control technologies for use nationally and internationally. Real Pictures was contracted to provide video production services in the marketing of one such system.
